It’s WAY too cold today… it never got all the way up to zero (air temp, not wind chill… Fahrenheit). I’m going to go check on the boys and make them a hot mash, but I’m keeping my barn time to a minimum until it warms up in a day or two. So I had a day to spend getting stuff done around the house (yes, I was good and cleaned dishes instead of tack this time) and was thinking about some things I’ve heard from people lately and I got inspired.
I seems to me that so many people think dressage is something that horses are born for, which in many cases is absolutely true, but so few anymore realize that where dressage came from was a method of developing a horse into what some of them are born with today. If you have the budget and desire, by all means buy one of these born for dressage horses! But if you don’t, don’t despair… it just takes time, patience, and correct work (which covers bases beyond just the riding part, and often these are the “missing pieces” for many horses). I’m making a new website all about the fundamentals of dressage, the “pieces” that I’ve found have to come together to make ordinary into extraordinary!
